Shocking Accident in Jos: Trailer Tyre Burst Sends Heavy Truck Crashing Into Family House, 3 Seriously Injured (July 2025)

A terrifying road crash rocked Bauchi Road in Jos North LGA, Plateau State on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, leaving at least three people with serious injuries after a fully loaded trailer lost control and rammed into a residential building.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened in broad daylight when one of the trailer’s front tyres suddenly burst while the vehicle was heading towards Bauchi. The driver completely lost control, causing the heavy truck to veer off the highway and smash directly into a private home.

Rescue operation lasted almost one hour as residents and emergency responders struggled to free trapped victims, including the driver who sustained severe injuries.

All three injured persons were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where they are currently receiving urgent medical attention.

Confirming the incident, Plateau State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Public Relations Officer, Peter Yakubu Longsang, said the damaged trailer has been towed away and traffic along the ever-busy Bauchi Road has fully returned to normal. 

Authorities are once again urging truck owners and drivers to regularly check tyre conditions and avoid over-speeding, especially on federal highways.
