Inside the Kizz Daniel vs G-Worldwide Battle: New Claims, Payments, and Contract Drama

The contract dispute between award-winning Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel and his former record label G-Worldwide Entertainment has continued to generate attention, with both sides presenting conflicting accounts of what led to their split.

Kizz Daniel, who recently left the label after several years, had earlier revealed through his legal team that he terminated his contract lawfully. According to his lawyers at L&A Associates, the contract drafted by the label included a termination clause, which the artist exercised after enduring what they described as unfair treatment and restrictive working conditions.
However, new findings published by LIB show that G-Worldwide has now responded with a detailed statement addressing the ongoing controversy and defending its position.
In the statement, the label said there has been “significant misinformation” surrounding Kizz Daniel’s exit and stressed that litigation was never their intention. The company insisted that its mission has always been to discover, groom, and promote talented artists, enabling them to build sustainable careers.
G-Worldwide also addressed widely discussed claims about strict collaboration rules. According to the label, its strategy has always been to help artistes build a unique brand identity before opening them up to external collaborations. They noted that this method contributed to the success of Kizz Daniel’s debut album New Era, which gained international recognition and charted on Billboard.
The label revealed that the upcoming Evolution album features collaborations with top Nigerian stars like Phyno and Olamide, while Sugarboy also worked with Ycee on a project set for release.
On claims that the company denied the singer access to its financial records, G-Worldwide stated that it had already provided documents to Kizz Daniel and his representatives. The label described the lawsuit filed by the artiste over account access as “a ploy to distract the public from his unlawful departure.”
One of the most widely circulated rumors was that Kizz Daniel earned only ₦30,000 monthly while with the label. G-Worldwide dismissed this as false, calling it “another joke,” and published details of various financial support the singer allegedly received.
According to the statement, the label:
Provided allowances and medical support when Kizz Daniel was still living in Abeokuta
Gave him over ₦550,000 to purchase a car for his mother’s taxi business
Released ₦200,000 at his request to support his father’s burial
Paid ₦13 million as a loan to help him secure a mortgage for a personal home
Paid over ₦117 million in royalties between 2015 and 2017
Covered housing, utilities, feeding, and service charges during his stay in a Lekki apartment provided by the label
G-Worldwide further stated that despite these investments, the singer still owes the company a significant amount based on its financial records.
The label also denied claims that it prevented him from attending his father’s burial, explaining that transportation and accommodation were arranged for him and that staff members accompanied him to Abeokuta.
As the legal battle continues, the Nigerian entertainment industry remains divided, with many awaiting the court’s final judgment on one of the biggest contract disputes in Afrobeats history.
