Elvina Ibru Shares Qualities She Wants in a Partner, Opens Up About Celibacy and Dating Preferences

Nigerian businesswoman and actress Elvina Ibru, daughter of the late billionaire Olorogun Michael Ibru, has opened up about her relationship preferences and the qualities she desires in a man. In an interview with Sun News, the mother of one revealed that she is currently single and practicing celibacy, though not for religious reasons.
Elvina, who previously stated she has no interest in marriage and prefers dating younger men, explained that she simply refuses to be intimate with just anyone.
According to her, “You don’t jump into bed with just anybody. I’m not celibate for religious reasons, but until I meet the right person, I’d rather stay on my own.”
Speaking about the type of man she finds attractive, the actress admitted that physical appearance matters to her. She said she is drawn to tall, dark men and dislikes potbellies. Beyond looks, she stressed the importance of character, especially honesty.
She added that she cannot date anyone involved in fraudulent activities, saying, “If you made your money dishonestly, I can’t be with you. Honesty is key in everything.”
Elvina emphasized transparency in relationships, encouraging men to be open about their mistakes instead of hiding them. She believes that honesty builds trust, which is essential for a strong partnership.
“What I need from a man is a best friend,” she said. “You have to be honest so we can understand each other. Don’t let others come and make me look foolish.”
She explained that if her partner is upfront about any wrongdoing, she prefers addressing it together rather than discovering it from outsiders.
Elvina also highlighted generosity, loyalty, and spirituality as must-have qualities. She said she is open to dating men from different religions—Christian, Muslim, or even Buddhist—as long as they respect her strong love for God.
While she prefers a Christian partner, she noted that genuine love and the fear of God matter more than religious labels.
